The Building Industry Association of the RRV and Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation are excited to recognize this year's top volunteers, celebrating their dedication to the association, the industry and the community. A committee of staff and members chose the three "volunteer of the year" honorees. Staff chose the Extra Mile award winner. They will all be recognized at the New Year Celebration Jan. 30!
These are our top awards honoring members who go above and beyond in industry promotion, community involvement and leadership. Both David and Joyce will represent the BIA-RRV at the North Dakota Association of Builders’ awards banquet in November.
David Reid (pictured above on right), Radiant Homes, is no stranger to recognition, having won this award in 2022. A past president of the BIA board, David’s commitment spans local, state and national levels, from the Parade of Homes Committee to serving on the boards with the North Dakota Association of Builders and National Association of Home Builders. He is pictured in the photo above at the 2024 New Year Celebration receiving the BIA-RRV's top recruiter award for his efforts to grow the Association's membership base; David actively recruits new BIA members and he encourages engagement amongst existing members.
Joyce Balstad (pictured above on right), Syverson Tile & Stone, serves as Associate Vice President on the BIA board and on the North Dakota Association of Builders’ board. She has been an essential voice on various committees, including the Events Committee and Remodelers Council. Joyce is a true team player at BIA events, from Golf Outings to the High Noon Shootout and even facilitating the BIA’s annual committee chair training! Joyce is pictured above volunteering at the July golf event in Hawley.
This award shines a light on members who are passionate about giving back through our charity’s workforce development and housing projects.
Trevor Odden (pictured above on left), Stone Ridge Builders, Inc., current president of Home Builders Care, is the force behind numerous fundraising and charitable efforts, leading by example in every initiative. He has hauled and assembled tents, served root beer floats, hosted cornhole competitions at Happy Hours and managed the ring toss for wine at countless events the past year. Trevor is pictured above volunteering at a Home Builders Care fundraiser at the August BIA Happy Hour event.
Recognizing those who work behind the scenes, this staff-nominated award is for unsung heroes.
Joe Striegel (pictured above - second from left), Dakota Construction of Fargo, Inc., is the BIA’s “on-call handyman,” always ready to jump in and fix whatever’s needed—from doors to flag poles to water heaters—he and his team keep the BIA office in top shape. Joe and company were also essential in providing transportation and deploying tables and chairs to our Golf Outings in Hawley this year! Joe is pictured above at this year's Remodelers Council Picnic where he helped serve food to attendees. He currently serves as chair of the Council.
