Volunteer's golf pro skills = a fundraising hole in one

Tyler Holland, Holland Enterprises, Inc., loves seeing how the Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation impacts people locally!

"Member of the Quarter” recognition is a means for HBA of F-M staff to shine a spotlight on members who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty, eagerly volunteering their time for the betterment of the Association and Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation while promoting themselves within the community.

Holland Enterprises is celebrating its 50^th anniversary this year. As Tyler says, “trucking is our way of life and I love it.” While working in operations, he helps drivers and dispatchers on a day-to-day basis and helps customers find available equipment. His involvement in Home Builders Care Foundation includes serving as a trustee on its board and on its Fundraising Committee.

One of his favorite events is the HBA of F-M’s Golf Outing, which he’s enjoyed every minute of for the past three years. He volunteered with other trustees all day at the Home Builders Care-sponsored hole both outings this year, raising over $4,000! He used his skills for a “tee off for charity,” visiting with all the golfers about the Foundation and its efforts.

In August, HBA Development & Workforce Coordinator Hannah LeTexier (below left) hung out at the hole and says, “Tyler (below right) was so much fun to work with! He was instrumental in raising over $2,000 for the Foundation that day by utilizing his golf pro skills to tee off and encouraging whole groups to donate instead of individuals.”

Tyler has always wanted to find something to devote his spare time to, and Home Builders Care seemed like the “perfect fit.” The doors that it has opened for him professionally and the personal impact he’s experienced have both been beneficial.

In addition to the Golf Outing, he also loves helping on Giving Hearts Day. A highlight of that is seeing how generous the community is.

HBA CEO and Home Builders Care Administrator Bryce Johnson adds that "Tyler's support for both Giving Hearts Day and our Golf Outings has been outstanding this year! It's obvious that he is excited about fundraising for the Foundation and his enthusiasm rubs off on his fellow trustees and the staff. He brings great ideas to the table, volunteers his time and is not shy about seeking donations. Tyler never hesitates to step up and help behind the scenes."

Outside of work and devoting time to Home Builders Care, Tyler enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing and basically anything outside! He also has been learning to build computers.

It provides a positive outlet for the housing industry to give back to the community, building a framework for the future.
