It’s Associate Appreciation Month – next up, let’s get to know HBA member Erick Roder.

 

Associate members make up a majority of the Home Builders Association of Fargo – Moorhead, which means they are incredibly important in guiding member benefits, recruitment of industry peers and are some of the biggest supporters of our building business community.

 

Those who hold an associate membership make up a variety of businesses that support the success of building in the Fargo – Moorhead community.

 

Some of these members might be painters, plumbers, bankers or interior designers. Others support the industry through different services, such as offering marketing and advertising support to their fellow members.

 

Erick Roder, Business Development Manager at Codelation is one of these members.

Codelation is a company in Fargo – Moorhead who isn’t pulling permits but is still involved in a different type of building – websites!

Erick has been a valuable asset to the Membership Committee within the HBA since the day he started.

Acting as an ambassador for the Association and a friendly face at events for new members and legacy members alike.

In 2018 he was named member of the month and nominated for the Extra Mile award for all his support behind the scenes.

 

Now it’s time to dive behind the scenes and learn more about Erick!

 

“I grew up in Fergus Falls and moved to Moorhead in 2002 when I started at Minnesota State University – Moorhead and have been here ever since. It’s kind of crazy to think I have now been a part of this community for almost half my life now.”

 

“Over the past 10 years I have held various sales and marketing roles and most recently took a leap to get involved in the technology field. I’ve always loved helping people grow their business by utilizing marketing tactics, including the web.

Being involved in the technology field lets me be an educator to our clients. Not many people know anything about websites – just like many people do not know anything about plumbing or electrical circuit breaker installation - When you get to educate your client you get to help them grow just by doing what you do best.

Building mutually beneficial business relationships and seeing businesses be successful just by being the go-to resource will always be my favorite part of my job.”

 

“Three years ago I took the down payment I was saving for a house, resigned from my job and went on a 5-month, 20,000 mile road trip across the United States.

I was on a beach in Los Angles, C.A. when I decided that the ‘Midwest is Best.’ 

Being close to my family and the Fargo – Moorhead community is something I realized I loved and missed.

I would have never guessed that I would choose Fargo as a home at the beginning of that trip – especially since the day I left it was a cool, thirty below winter day.”

 

“The ‘WHY?’ behind my career is family and adventures.

I think that I will never get to a point where I have explored enough new places. I want to see all the Seven Wonders of the World (three down four to go!). I like to plan my trips and currently have my sights set on seeing the Taj Mahal next.

When I am not traveling, I love to spend time at the lakes with family. Also - maybe I am kind of biased, but I am pretty sure I am the most fun uncle ever.”
