What does leadership look like at the Home Builders Association? It can be anything from stepping up to help at an event or serving in the highest positions within the HBA of F-M's board of directors.
Scott Persoon, Camrud Foss Concrete Constr., Inc., does all of the above!
He volunteers at a wide variety of events including
-
workforce development efforts,
-
video productions,
-
on the Education Committee and
-
as secretary on the HBA's Executive Committee.
This month, we are featuring Associate members who make an impact on event programming and in the community! Associates are members who support the building industry but may not be the ones applying for permits to build the homes (trade contractors, banks, real estate agencies, lumber yards, etc.).
This year, Scott is nominated for one of the HBA’s most prestigious awards: Associate Volunteer of the Year.
Nominees are submitted by their peers within the Association and reviewed by a committee of past winners. The award winner will be announced at the Awards Gala & Annual Meeting Oct. 29!
We asked Scott to share some fun facts about himself:
Where did you grow up?
“I grew up in Marshall, Minnesota, the headquarters of Schwann’s Ice-cream and then went to Minnesota State University-Moorhead, graduating with a degree in construction management.”
How long have you been with Camrud-Foss Concrete?
“I started working for Camrud-Foss in the summer of 1997 and have been there ever since. It has been my only ‘real job’ that I have ever had.”
What do you and your family do in your spare time?
“We have a busy family with three kids! Hanna (18), Benett (16) and Gracelynn (11), and a miniature bulldog Marley (6) who keep us running around to sports and other activities. But, when we are not busy, we enjoy spending time at our cabin on Lake Miltonia near Alexandria, Minnesota.”
