More about Homes For Our Troops: It is a privately funded nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. Most of these veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury.
These homes restore some of the freedom and independence these veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar donated to Homes For Our Troops has gone directly to its program services for Veterans.
Homes For Our Troops continues its relationship with the veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.
Habitat Projects
Home Builders Care and the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead have sponsored two builds for the Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity. The 2014 Home Builders Care build with Habitat was the first Veteran build in the area. Members of the Home Builders Association provided donations of labor, materials and cash in order to complete both the 2012 and 2014 builds.
In addition, Home Builders Care has donated over $100,000 to Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity since its inception in 1993, as well as supporting other build projects.
