NDSCS Career Workforce Academy

The shortage of skilled labor is one of the most critical problems our industry faces today. We are proud to support and be part of an exciting solution that benefits not only our industry members, but also provides satisfying and rewarding careers for generations to come.

North Dakota State College of Science’s Career Workforce Academy allows students to enter the workforce sooner, with technical education certificates and skills. The trades will be promoted to grades K-14 on a continuous basis.

Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead Foundation and Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead made a combined pledge of $200,000 toward the development of the Career Workforce Academy. Our goal and commitment is to raise $1 million.

Did you know?

• By the end of 2018, there will be 2 million job openings in the construction field nationwide.
• There are over 46,682 jobs in construction projected for North Dakota by 2026.
• In Cass County, there are over 836 construction-related employers with over 257 job openings.
• If we train them here, give them apprenticeships here, and connect them here, they will stay.

The Career Workforce Center:

• Provides opportunities for students to experiment with a variety of careers, with hands-on training.
• Allows students K-14 to discover a career path that they are interested in earlier.
• Provides students with a path to continue 21st Century skilled training.
• Offers customized training for the current workforce featuring courses that align with current demands.
